I do not release raw (unedited) photographs for download. Only finished images are available for download. Being a photographer is not only about snapping the picture, but about creating the final image. You are hiring me for my craft and expertise, my raw photos do not fully represent that craft. Think of a painting, with raw photos, I have only prepped the canvas. By adding my “art” with my editing and then converting those pics to jpeg, it will allow you to open those beautiful pieces of art on your devices.
I like to say that I am a ‘true to life’ lifestyle photographer. While I appreciate other styles of photography (dark & moody, light & airy), I believe that those editing styles will go out of style over time. I want you to have pictures 30 years from now that still look as beautiful as the day you took them. I love using prompts and games to capture the natural connection between family members and bring out everyone’s true personality. With prompts, I don’t do a lot of posing. I may “lightly” pose you, but I never want to put you in a position that feels unnatural or uncomfortable as your uneasiness will show on camera. If something doesn’t look good on camera, I will offer small adjustments to get you looking and feeling your best.
That’s up to you! I have both a studio and on- location option! My studio is currently in the front room of my home (based in Warrenville). It works perfectly for one set up and works well for families up to 6. On-location sessions can be anywhere there is good lighting. We can work together to come up with a location that works best for your family. I have annual permits to most of the local forrest preserves as well as Cantigny Park. If we pick a location that requires a permit fee (that I don’t already pay for annually), that permit fee will be passed onto the client (i.e. Morton Arboretum, Chicago Botanic Gardens, etc).
